Piercing Aftercare Guidelines

  1. Packaged Sterile saline solution with no additives (Be sure to read the label).
  2. A mild, fragrance free liquid soap - preferably anti-microbial or germicidal.

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly prior to cleaning or touching your piercing for any reason. leave it alone except when cleaning.  During healing, it is not necessary to rotate your jewelery.
  2. Saline soak fir five to ten minutes once or more per day.  invert a warm cup of saline solution to the area to form a vacuum.  For certain piercings it may be easier to apply a Q-tip or gauze saturated with saline solution.  A brief rinse afterward will remove any residue.
  3. Soap no more than twice a day.  While showering, lather up a pearl size drop of soap to clean the jewelery and the piercing.  it is not necessary to rotate the jewelery though the piercing.
  4. Dry gently patting with a clean, disposable paper product.  Cloth towels can harbor bacteria and/or snag on jewelery, causing injury.

  1. Avoid cleaning with alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, harsh soaps, or pierced ear care solutions.  These can be irritating and are not intended for long term wound care.  Also avoid ointments as they prevent necessary air circulation.
  2. Avoid over cleaning.  This can delay your healing and irritate your piercing.
  3. Avoid undue trauma such as friction from clothing, excessive moving of the area, playing with the jewelery, and vigirous cleaning.  These activities can cause the formation of uncomfortable scar tissue, migration, prolonged healing, and other complications.
  4. Avoid going in unhygenic water with your body piercing such as lakes, pools or hot tubs.
  5. Avoid all beauty and personal care products on or around the piercing including cosmetics, lotions, or sprays, ect.
  6. Do not change the jewelery until the piercing is fully healed.  healing times will vary depending on the body type and the location of the piercing.  ask for further detail
